Police Charge Man Over Arson At Glenorchy

Police have charged an 18-year-old man with setting fire to a unit in Surada Place, Glenorchy this afternoon.

Emergency Services were alerted to the fire around 1:40pm, arriving a short time later to find the unit well ablaze.

Fortunately, the fire was contained before it was able to spread to adjoining units.

The man has been charged with one count of Arson and will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court tomorrow (02/04).

Damage is estimated at roughly $300,000.
