Police Charge Man Over Break And Enter At Wagga Wagga

A man will face court after a number of shops were broke into in the state's south yesterday.

About 2am today (Tuesday 14 July 2026), officers attached to Riverina Police District responded to a shopping complex on Baylis street, Wagga Wagga, following reports of a break and enter.

Police believe sometime between 10pm on Monday 13 July 2026 and 2am today a glass door was smashed and a man gained entry into the shopping complex.

A number of shops were damaged, and police believe clothes, souvenirs with estimated value at $2200 and cash were stolen.

A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 12:10pm today, a 21-year-old man was arrested at Wagga Wagga Police Station, where he was charged with break and enter dwelling-house etc with intent (three counts), break and enter house etc steal value less than or equal to $60,000 (two counts), remain in building/land with intent to commit indictable offence (two counts), and larceny.

The man was refused bail to appear in Bail Court Division 5 today (Wednesday 15 July 2026).
