Police charge man over historical indecent assault - Mosman

A former primary school teacher has been charged after an alleged historical indecent assault of a student in Sydney's North Shore.

In March 2019, detectives from North Shore Police Area Command commenced an investigation into reports a Year 6 boy was indecently assaulted by a teacher in 1972.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 92-year-old man at a home in Chain Valley Bay about 7.45am today (Friday 2 October 2020).

He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with indecent assault on male.

Police will allege in court that the man indecently assaulted the boy – then aged 11 – in the classroom of a school in Mosman.

He was given conditional bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday 11 November 2020.
