Police charge man over Mayfield shooting incident

A 28-year-old Invermay man has been charged in relation to a shooting incident that occurred at Mayfield on 10 April this year.

The incident involved two men smashing windows at a Mayfield Street residence before removing surveillance cameras and discharging a shotgun into the air.

The arrest comes after a search of the man's Invermay residence by members of the Northern Firearms Task Force. Located during the search was cannabis, cannabis plants and a small quantity of ammunition.

The man has been detained to appear in an after-hours court tonight, charged with recklessly discharge a firearm, possess firearm, possess ammunition, destroying property, drug offences and stealing.
