Police charge man over murder of woman at Cranebrook - Strike Force Eynahm

A man will face court today charged over the alleged murder of a woman in Sydney's west at the weekend.

About 2.30pm on Sunday (18 December 2022), emergency services responded after a woman was located with serious injuries inside a home on Borrowdale Way, Cranebrook.

The 31-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

She has been formally identified as Dannielle Finlay-Jones.

Detectives from Nepean Police Area Command, assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Eynahm to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

A 33-year-old man was arrested just after midnight today (Wednesday 21 December 2022), following a police operation at Wentworth Falls.

He was taken to Katoomba Police Station, where he was charged with murder.

The Five Dock man has been refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
