Police charge man over sexual touching of teenager - Northern Beaches

A man will appear in court today after allegedly sexually touching a teenage girl on a bus in the Northern Beaches earlier this month.

Police will allege on Thursday 5 December 2019, a man boarded a bus at Manly Wharf just before 4pm and conversed with a number of students, before he allegedly sexually touched a 13-year-old girl.

The incident was reported to officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command who commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a house on Hunter Street, North Balgowlah, just before 11am yesterday (Wednesday 18 December 2019).

A 76-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Manly Police Station.

During the search, police located and seized clothing and electronic devices. Police further allege the man was not providing adequate care for his dog. Officers notified the council who attended and seized it.

The man was charged with intentionally sexually touch child, common assault and commit an act of cruelty upon an animal.

He was refused bail to appear before Manly Local Court today (Thursday 19 December 2019).
