Police charge man over stabbing - Wetherill Park

A man has been charged over a stabbing in Sydney's west overnight.

About 8.10pm (Wednesday 12 January 2022), emergency services were called to a business on The Horsley Drive, Wetherill Park, following reports of a fight.

Officers attached to Fairfield Police Area Command attended a short time later and found two men with injuries.

A 24-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a stab wound to his lower leg before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Police were told the man would undergo surgery later today.

A 28-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a lacerated finger before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following investigations, officers attended a Hinchinbrook Drive, Hinchinbrook, where they arrested a 31-year-old man.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with two counts of wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily.

The man was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court tomorrow (Friday 14 January 2022).
