Police charge man with 14 sexual assault, firearm offences at Manilla

A man has been charged with 14 sexual assault and firearm-related offences in the state's north-east.

About 6.30am today (Thursday 7 November 2019), officers attached to Oxley Police District received reports of the alleged sexual assault of a woman at a home in Manilla.

Officers commenced inquiries into the incident.

About 9.25am, officers arrested a 30-year-old man at a Manilla home in relation to the allegation.

A crime scene was established, and several gel firearms seized.

The man was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with sexual assault (x2), sexual touching, possess unregistered/ unauthorised pistol (x2), possess unregistered/ unauthorised firearm, and not keep firearm safe (x3).

He was bail refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court tomorrow (Friday 8 November 2019).

Investigations continue.
