Police charge man with armed robbery, Labrador

An 18-year-old man has been charged following the alleged armed robbery of a service station/convenience store at Labrador overnight.

Around 8.50pm a man armed with a machete entered the Government Road business and made demands for money. The 48-year-old female store attendant placed the till on the counter and the man reached over and removed cash before fleeing the store.

Two customers, a 26-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, were at the business at the time of the robbery.

The man who fled was located in a nearby park on Government Road and arrested by police.

An 18-year-old man from Labrador has been charged with armed robbery and drug possession (Xanax). He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, September 2.

No one was physically injured during the incident.
