On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Türkiye on the 103rd anniversary of the founding of your Republic.
As our countries prepare to commemorate 100 years of diplomatic relations next year, the partnership between the United States and Türkiye remains vital. Together, our nations continue to advance stability, security, and prosperity across the region and beyond.
Türkiye is a strong and reliable NATO ally. In hosting this year's NATO Summit in Ankara, Türkiye reaffirmed its commitment to the alliance. We are also grateful for Türkiye's critical assistance in helping Americans travel safely out of conflict zones this year, a testament to the trust and reliability that define our relationship. We look forward to expanding our defense cooperation and deepening our security ties.
Our partnership now extends into space with Türkiye's signing of the Artemis Accords in August. Our economic ties were strengthened by Turkish Airlines' agreement to purchase approximately $50 billion in Boeing aircraft, a deal that will support jobs and prosperity in both of our countries.
As Türkiye celebrates this milestone, the United States looks forward to building on this year's successes and further strengthening our alliance in the years ahead.
