Police charge man with cannabis cultivation - Darlinghurst

A man will face court today, charged with drug offences after police allegedly located a cannabis setup in Sydney's inner city yesterday.

In October 2021, the Kings Cross Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into the cultivation of cannabis in the Darlinghurst area.

Following inquiries, about 8.30am yesterday (Wednesday 1 December 2021), a search warrant was executed at a home on Forbes Street, Darlinghurst.

Upon searching the premise, police located a hydroponic setup with 196 cannabis plants and approximately 25kgs of cannabis leaf allegedly in the bedrooms and attic.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with cultivate cannabis (indictable quantity), supply cannabis (indictable quantity) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Central Local Court today (Thursday 2 December 2021).
