Police charge man with CBD train station up-skirting - Strike Force Artemis

A man has been charged with allegedly up-skirting a 16-year-old girl on a Sydney CBD train station platform earlier this year, after investigations by Strike Force Artemis.

Police will allege that a man took images up the girl's skirt without her consent just before 8.30am on Wednesday 1 May 2019, on the platform of Wynyard Railway Station.

The girl reported the incident to officers attached to Hornsby Police Transport Command, who commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries by the North Central Transport Action Group, officers attended Wynyard Railway Station about 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 11 September 2019), where they arrested a 44-year-old man and took him to Day Street Police Station.

He was charged with produce child abuse material (x2), carry out sexual act towards another person, attempt to produce child abuse material, intentionally record intimate image without consent, and attempt to record intimate image without consent.

The Penrith man was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Thursday 12 September 2019).

Strike Force Artemis is an ongoing operation to disrupt and prevent sexual offences on the public transport network.
