Police charge man with child sex offences, South Australia

Police from the Northern District Child and Family Investigation Section, as part of a complex and challenging investigation, have arrested and charged a man in connection with a number of child sex offences.

On 22 October (following a report the same day) police arrested the 40-year-old from the northern suburbs and charged him with unlawful sexual intercourse and seized a number of electronic devices. Police will allege the offence occurred in August this year.

The man appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on the 23 October and was remanded in custody to reappear on 26 February.

Following forensic examination of the devices seized by police in October, investigators re-arrested the man today and charged him with maintain unlawful relationship with a child, produce child exploitation material, possess child exploitation material, disseminate child exploitation material and indecent filming (child).

Police also identified alleged child sex offences that occurred interstate and Queensland Police have commenced an investigation.
