Police charge man with drug possession and production, Currumbin Waters

Police have charged a man after allegedly locating hydroponic drug-labs in two bedrooms at a Currumbin Waters home this morning.

Around 9.00am, detectives from the Gold Coast CIB executed a search warrant at an address on Simpson Road, where they allegedly found around 14 mature plants, 21 seedlings, a significant amount of chemical fertiliser, pots and lighting equipment suspected of being used in drug production.

A 66-year-old Currumbin Waters man has now been charged with one count each of possessing and producing dangerous drugs.

He is scheduled to appear at the Coolangatta Magistrates Court on Monday, June 3.
