Police charge man with drugs offences at Murwillumbah

A man has been charged with several drug offences on the state's Far North Coast.

In July 2019, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Target Action Group commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in the Murwillumbah area.

About 8.30am today (Friday 18 October 2019), police executed a search warrant at a home on Riverview Street, Murwillumbah where they spoke with a 32-year-old man.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized cannabis, methylamphetamine, MDMA, cash, prescribed restricted substances and items associated with the supply of prohibited drugs.

The man was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug greater than indictable quantity, three counts of possess prohibited drug, two counts of possess prescribed restricted substance, and one count of deal with the proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to face Tweed Heads Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 19 October 2019).

Investigations are ongoing.
