Launceston Police are calling for information from the public, after a man was arrested in Mayfield on Saturday morning.
About 9:40am police attempted to intercept two men riding on unregistered dirt bikes.
One man evaded police, while the other was taken into custody at the scene and found in possession of a sawn-off shotgun.
He was charged with several matters relating to illegal firearms and will reappear in court today at 2:15pm.
