Police charge man with high-range PCA at Dubbo

A man will face court charged with high-range drink driving in the state's Central West.

About 3am on Saturday (25 April 2020), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District stopped a black Lexus SUV on Macleay Street, Dubbo, and conducted a random breath test.

The driver, a 39-year-old man returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.156.

The man was charged with high-range PCA and is due to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 15 July 2020.

He was also issued a licence suspension notice.

Western Region Traffic Tactician, Inspector Ben Macfarlane said, even while we are amid the COVID 19 pandemic police will be out in force and will continue targeting drink driving offences in the Western Region.

"If you drink and drive, expect to be caught and have your licence suspended immediately," he said.
