Police charge man with indecent dealing of a child

Karratha Detectives have charged a 63-year-old man as a result of their investigation into reports of a man behaving inappropriately with children at a swimming pool in a caravan park on Rosemary Road in Baynton.

On Sunday 27 September 2020, the man was at the pool and it is alleged he approached numerous families offering free swimming lessons to children. He interacted with various children on the day.

It is further alleged he indecently assaulted an 11-year-old girl during this time.

The man from Wiluna was charged with Indecent Dealing of a Child Under 13 years and is next due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 16 October 2020.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives urge anyone who visited the pool between Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2020, particularly anyone who was offered swimming lessons or who has any information regarding this matter to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
