Police charge man with sexual assault of girl - Central West NSW

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual assault of a girl in the state's Central West.

In December 2019, detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a teenage girl had been sexually assaulted by a man who she had recently met.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 36-year-old man at Condobolin just after midday yesterday (Tuesday 14 January 2020).

He was taken to Condobolin Police Station and charged with sexual intercourse with child between 10 and 14 years, and two counts of intentionally sexual touch child between 10 and 16 years.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually assaulted the girl – then aged 13 – in the Central West area in April 2019.

The man was refused bail to appear at Forbes Local Court today (Wednesday 15 January 2020).

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
