Police Charge Man With Stabbing At Orange

A man will face court today following an investigation into a stabbing in the state's Central West at the weekend.

About 2.30pm on Saturday (27 April 2024), emergency services were called to Dalton Street, Orange, following reports of an assault.

On arrival, officers attached to Central West Police District located a 33-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his chest.

Police were told that the man had a physical altercation with two other men before he was allegedly stabbed.

It's believed all three men are known to each other.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Orange Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.

Following inquiries, about 2.15am today (Tuesday 30 April 2024), police attended a home on Matthews Avenue, Orange, and arrested a 35-year-old man.

He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Tuesday 30 April 2024).
