Police Charge Six Teens With More Than 90 Property Crime Offences, Operation Xray Steeler

Centenary Crime Team investigators have charged six people aged between 14 to 16 years old with 92 property crime offences as part of Operation Xray Steeler.

The arrest brings the total number of offenders charged since Operation Xray Steeler's launch to more than 500 offenders on more than 1,500 offences.

It will be alleged throughout late September to early November the group committed various offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle (UUMV), assault occasioning bodily harm (AOBH), burglary, trespass and stealing across south east Queensland.

Suburbs where offences are alleged to have occurred include Bulimba, Calamvale, Springfield Lakes, Bellbird Park, Park Ridge, Sunnybank Hills, Crestmead, Stretton, Browns Plains, Ashmore, Augustine Heights, and Springfield.

Following extensive police investigations, the group was located and arrested.

On 11 November, a 16-year-old Crestmead girl was taken into custody at Crestmead.

The teen was charged with seven counts of UUMV, five counts of attempted burglary, three counts of attempt enter premise and one count each of enter premise and AOBH.

She was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Brisbane Childrens Court on 2 December.

Shortly before 3.30pm on 12 November officers arrested a teen who was located hiding inside the roof of a Cognac Circuit address in Kingston.

The 14-year-old Marsden boy was charged with 20 offences including six counts of attempted enter dwelling and four counts each of UUMV and attempted enter premises.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Beenleigh Childrens Court on 8 December.

On 12 November, police also arrested a 15-year-old Browns Plains girl in Kingston.

The teen was subsequently charged with six counts of attempted burglary, four counts each of UUMV and attempted enter premises, and one count of stealing.

She first appeared before Richlands Children's Court on 13 November.

Shortly after 2pm on 14 November officers arrested three people at a Nova Street address in Waterford.

A 14-year-old Caboolture girl was charged with four offences including one count of unauthorised dealing with shop goods.

She is expected to appear before Caboolture Childrens Court today, 19 November.

A 15-year-old Waterford girl was charged with six counts of UUMV, five counts of enter premises and commit, and two counts of stealing.

She first appeared before Brisbane Childrens Court on 15 November.

A 14-year-old Scarborough boy was charged with eight counts of UUMV, five counts of enter premises and commit, three counts each of stealing and attempted burglary and one count each of unlicenced driving, enter premises with intent, attempt enter premises and trespass.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Brisbane Childrens Court on 20 November.
