Police charge teen after Bendigo fatal crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a crash in Bendigo yesterday.

The 18-year-old, from Strathfieldsaye, has been charged with culpable driving causing death and negligently cause serious injury.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Bendigo Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

The charges relate to an incident where a car crashed into a tree on McCrae Street about 3.15am.

A 16-year-old Goornong boy died at the scene and an 18-year-old Bendigo West man remains in hospital with serious injuries.
