Police charge teen after crash at Seven Hills

A teenage girl has been charged as investigations continue after an alleged stolen car crashed into a tree at Seven Hills overnight.

Shortly after midnight (Tuesday 16 March 2021), emergency services were called to Best Road, near Ross Street, Seven Hills after reports a Jeep Grand Cherokee had lost control and crashed into a tree.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended the scene; however, the occupants had fled. Inquiries revealed the Jeep was reportedly from an Avalon Beach address on Tuesday 2 March 2021.

Police spoke to witnesses and following a search of the area, a 17-year-old girl was arrested nearby on Cathy Way. She was later released pending further inquiries.

Following inquiries, police attended a nearby home and arrested a 16-year-old girl, alleged to be the driver at the time of the crash.

She was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with take & drive conveyance w/o consent of owner, driver never licensed, negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), and breach of bail.

The teen has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Children's Court today (Tuesday 16 March 2021).

Inquiries are continuing.
