Police Charge Teen After Geelong Stabbing

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a boy following a stabbing in Geelong on Thursday.

The 16-year-old has been charged with two counts of intentionally cause injury and one count each of affray, assault with a weapon and commit offence whilst on bail.

The charges follow an incident at a shopping centre on Little Malop Street where it is alleged a boy was stabbed just after 3.30pm on 19 February.

The 17-year-old victim was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

The teenager, from the Geelong area, was arrested on Friday and interviewed by detectives.

He was bailed by a bail justice to appear before a children's court on Monday.

It is believed the boys involved are known to each other.
