Police charge teen after stabbing at Broadmeadows supermarket

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenager after a boy was allegedly stabbed at a supermarket in Broadmeadows last week.

Police were called to the Pascoe Vale Road store to reports of a brawl between approximately 10-15 youths on 15 July about 6.20pm.

A 16-year-old Dallas boy was located with a stab wound to the upper body and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 16-year-old Broadmeadows boy has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence and affray.

He is expected to face a childrens' court today.

Last week officers arrested six teenagers at the scene including:

• A 13-year-old Dallas boy

• A 14-year-old Dallas boy

• A 15-year-old Dallas boy

• A 13-year-old Coolaroo boy

• A 14-year-old Broadmeadows boy

• A 16-year-old Broadmeadows boy

All were issued with a caution notice in relation to the affray.

The investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing, and detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed it to make contact with police.
