Two teenage boys have been charged over their alleged involvement in an armed home invasion in Sydney's southwest this morning.
About 2.45am (Saturday 20 June 2026), police were called to a home on George Street, Yagoona, following reports of a home invasion.
On arrival, police were told four unknown males had allegedly forced entry into the home before threatening the residents with knives and baseball bats.
The group then allegedly damaged the home before stealing cash, jewellery and electronic devices and running from the scene.
None of the residents were injured during the incident.
Police established a crime scene and officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command – with assistance from Dog Unit officers – commenced a search to locate the group.
Following investigations, police arrested two boys – aged 16 and 17 – hiding behind a fence on Bowden Boulevarde.
Nearby police also located and seized a Hyundai sedan reportedly stolen from a Canley Heights home in April 2026.
During the arrest, police located and seized a number of items believed to have been stolen during the earlier incident before taking both boys to Bankstown Police Station.
They were both charged with aggravated break & enter & commit serious indictable offence-people there.
Both teens were refused bail to appear before a children's court today.
Investigations to locate the other unknown males are continuing.
