Police charge three after Fitzroy carjacking

Melbourne Embona Taskforce detectives have charged three men following an alleged aggravated carjacking in Fitzroy yesterday.

Three males were arrested in Little Oxford Street, Collingwood about 1pm yesterday.

Detectives charged the trio with multiple offences including aggravated carjacking.

A 20-year-old Maidstone man and a 18-year-old Hallam man were remanded in custody and are expected to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.

A 17-year-old was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in a children's court at a later date.

It is alleged three offenders threatened a male driver with a knife on Palmer Street about 1.40am and stole his blue Holden wagon.

The victim, a 20-year-old Footscray man, received non-life-threatening injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
