Police Charge Two After Fatal Shooting In Thomastown

Detectives from the Homicide Squad have today charged two men following a fatal shooting in Thomastown last Sunday night.

A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Donnybrook, along with a 19-year-old Lalor woman were arrested in Deer Park last night.

The trio were interviewed by police and the two men have subsequently been charged with murder.

They will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court this afternoon.

The woman has been released without charge pending further enquiries.

The arrests follow an incident on Sunday, 6 September where a 22-year-old Thomastown man was fatally shot at a reserve on Victoria Drive in Thomastown.

He was treated at the scene but passed away a short time later.

Police will allege this incident was a targeted attack and the parties involved were known to each other.
