Police charge two after firearms, drugs and cash located at Ormeau

Police have charged a man and woman after locating two firearms, cash and a significant quantity of drugs at an Ormeau home on Wednesday July 7.

It will be alleged around 1.00pm, officers executed a search warrant on the Senna Street address where they located a stolen vehicle, loaded semi-automatic shortened firearm, small loaded silver handgun, ammunition, around 200 grams of methylamphetamine, around 23 grams of cocaine, cannabis, heroin, a large amount of cash, pipes and electric scales.

A 24-year-old Southport man and a 52-year-old Ormeau woman were arrested at the scene.

The man has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawfully possessing weapons, possessing tainted property and one count each of possessing explosives (ammunition), unlicensed driving, possessing utensils, possessing dangerous drugs and receiving tainted property.

He is scheduled to reappear at the Southport Magistrates Court on August 5.

The woman has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of possessing utensils.

She is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 4.
