A man and woman have been charged after a pursuit with a stolen car on the Central Coast overnight.
About 6pm (Thursday 16 May 2019), officers from Brisbane Water Highway Patrol were patrolling the Central Coast Highway, Erina, when they attempted to stop a Holden HSV sedan.
The driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated, which was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.
The police airwing, PolAir, then began tracking the vehicle, and observed the car crash down a small embankment in Caroline Street, East Gosford.
The male driver and female passenger fled the scene on foot and were arrested a short time later at premises on Wharf Street.
Inquiries revealed the Holden had been stolen from Tuggerah earlier this month.
The 30-year old man and 19-year-old woman were taken to Gosford Police Station.
The man has been charged with police pursuit (Skye's Law), drive conveyance taken without consent, enter enclosed lands, drive whilst disqualified, drive manner dangerous, and exceed speed over 45km/h.
The woman was charged with be carried in conveyance without consent and enter enclosed lands.
They were both refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Friday 17 May 2019).
