Police charge two men after stabbing - Padstow

Two men will appear in court today charged over an alleged stabbing in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 5.40pm (Sunday 7 March 2021), emergency services were called to Parmal Avenue, Padstow, after reports a man had been stabbed.

Police have been told three men were involved in an altercation, before one of the men, aged 34, was stabbed in the leg and foot. None of the parties are believed to be known to one another.

The other men fled the scene on foot.

The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition to undergo surgery.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 25-year-old Punchbowl man and an 18-year-old Carramar man at a unit on Colin Street, Lakemba, about 2am today (Monday 8 March 2021).

Both men were taken to Burwood Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

They have been bail refused to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
