Two men have been charged following a pursuit in the states south after a car jacking incident in south west Sydney.
About 11pm on Sunday (5 October 2025), officers from Cumberland Police Area Command commenced an investigation after a grey Toyota Yaris was stolen in Albion Street, Harris Park.
Officers were informed that a 47-year-old male ride share driver was parked at the location when he was allegedly threatened by two men – one of whom was armed with a knife.

Police will allege about 6am yesterday (Monday 6 October 2025), the men drove to a service station along the Hume Highway, Goulburn, filling the vehicle with an amount of fuel and then left the location without making payment.

When the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit was initiated which was terminated a short time later for safety reasons.
It will be alleged that the vehicle conducted a u-turn on the Hume Highway at Coolac, where a second pursuit was commenced.
The vehicle was pursued to Rodeo Drive, Cootamundra, where it allegedly drove through a gate before becoming wedged in a culvert where the driver – an 18-year-old man – and a 21-year-old male passenger ran from the vehicle but were arrested by officers following a foot pursuit.
