Police charge woman after Chandlers Creek incident

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a woman with numerous offences following an incident which occurred at Chandlers Creek last year.

It is alleged a car evaded the East Gippsland checkpoint about 4am on 30 December.

A 57-year-old Bateau Bay woman was arrested on the Western Highway on the way to South Australia around 6pm on the same day.

She has been charged with reckless exposure of police officer to risk by driving, fail to stop, reckless conduct endanger serious injury, driver whilst disqualified, use unregistered vehicle and contravention of direction pursuant to public health and wellbeing.

She has been bailed to appear at Bairnsdale Magistrates' Court on 7 April.
