Police Charge Woman After Evade At Bridport

Police from Bridport and George Town have arrested a 42-year-old woman in relation to an evade incident in Bridport overnight.

Police will allege the woman, who was disqualified from driving, evaded police during an attempted traffic intercept on Tuesday (1 September) before fleeing into a licensed premises and a nearby residential property.

The woman was later located at a residential address, arrested, and charged with evading police (aggravated circumstances) and driving whilst disqualified.

She will appear in court at a later date.

The vehicle, a Volkswagen Amarok, was seized for six months.

Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance during the incident.

Anyone who witnessed a beige Volkswagen Amarok being driven in the Bridport area about 7:30pm, or who has relevant CCTV footage, is asked to contact police and quote OR 815390.
