Police charge woman after spitting on officer during arrest of teens at Toongabbie

A woman has been charged after allegedly spitting on a police officer during an unrelated arrest in Sydney's west yesterday.

In February this year, detectives attached to Cumberland Police Area Command commenced an investigation into an alleged assault and robbery of a 36-year-old man at Toongabbie Railway Station on Sunday 14 February 2021.

Following extensive inquiries, officers attached to the North West Metropolitan Operations Support Group, Operation Talon, assisted by officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended a home on Fiona Way, Toongabbie, about 5.50pm yesterday (Thursday 1 April 2021).

Police arrested a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy at the home.

During the arrest, a 41-year-old woman allegedly became aggressive and spat in the face of a female constable.

The woman was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station, along with the teenagers.

She was charged with assault officer in execution of duty.

The man was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company and affray.

They were both refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Friday 2 April 2021).

The boy was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm - in company, robbery in company and

affray. He was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Friday 2 April 2021).

The constable did not require medical treatment.
