A woman has been charged after two alleged armed robberies in the state's west overnight.
About 8.40pm yesterday (Saturday 25 April 2026), police were called to a service station on Cobra Street, Dubbo, following reports of two armed robbery offences.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were told a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were walking into the shop when an unkwonw second woman approached and threatened them with a knife before the first woman was assaulted.
A short time later, a Ford hatchback arrived and the second woman threatened the driver – a 18-year-old woman – before stealing her car and left the scene.
A crime scene has been established and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
About 10.50pm the same day, police located the hatchback on Newell Highway, Dubbo, where a pursuit was initiated after the driver allegedly failed to stop.
A short time later, the vehicle stopped nearby and the drvier – a 23-year-old woman – was arrested.
Police searched the vehicle and seized a knife for a forensic examination.
The woman was taken to Dubbo Police Station where she was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon (two counts), armed with intent to commit indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, police pursuit – not stop -drive at speed, and drive while licence cancelled.
She was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Sunday 26 April 2026).
