Police are appealing for public assistance following a series of assaults and sexual offences committed across the states rail network.
Between Wednesday (20 May 2026) and Thursday (21 May 2026), officers from the Police Transport Command conducted a two-day statewide operation under Operation Savete, resulting in the arrest of more than 100 people.
As part of ongoing inquiries, police are seeking public assistance to identify six individuals who may be able to assist with investigations into the following incidents:
About 5.20am on Tuesday 6 January 2026, a 41-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted whilst waiting for a train at Erskineville Train Station when she was approached and kissed without her consent. The man depicted in Image A is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of medium build, with blond hair. He is believed to be aged in his 30s. He is depicted wearing a blue button-up shirt and blue jeans.
About 6pm on Wednesday 25 February 2026, two men – both aged in their 60s – were allegedly assaulted on a train between Newtown and Lewisham. The man depicted in Image B is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of slim build, with bald hair. He is believed to be aged in his 30s. He is depicted wearing a blue button-up shirt, grey shorts and white shoes.
About 2pm on Saturday 28 February 2026, two boys – both aged 13 – were allegedly assaulted whilst on a train approaching Seven Hills Train Station. The man depicted in Image C is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of slim build, with short black hair and a moustache. He is believed to be aged in his 20s. He is depicted wearing a grey t-shirt, black shorts and black shoes.
About 7.10pm on Thursday 5 March 2026, a 55-year-old man was allegedly assaulted whilst waiting for a train at Springwood Train Station. The man depicted in Image D is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of medium build, with black hair and a beard. He is depicted wearing a grey t-shirt, black shorts, white shoes and wearing a blue cap.
About 11.20am Friday 6 March 2026, a 59-year-old woman was allegedly grabbed by the throat at a bus stop on Railway Parade, Sydenham. The man depicted in Image E is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, of slim build, with brown hair. The man is believed to be aged in his 20s. He is depicted wearing a black t-shirt, camouflage patterned pants, blue shoes and wearing a black cap.
About 2.25pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026, a 16-year-old boy was allegedly punched in the face at Chester Hill Railway Station, after he tried to prevent the theft of his e-scooter. The man depicted in Image F is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of slim build, unshaven with brown hair. The man is believed to be in his 30s. He is depicted wearing a black tracksuit with a black cap.
