Police are appealing for public assistance as part of an investigation into an incident on Sydney's rail network.
About 10am on Friday 10 October 2025, emergency services received a report of an assault, which occurred on a train travelling between Burwood and Redfern.
Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were told a man assaulted a 26-year-old male passenger while travelling on the train. No significant injuries were sustained.
Police have released a description of a man they believe can assist with inquiries. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 25 and 35, of medium build, about 180cm tall, with black hair and a black beard. He was last seen wearing a black polo shirt, blue shorts, beige slip-on shoes, and was wearing a blue backpack.
The man boarded the train at Villawood Railway Station at 9:32am and exited the train at Circular Quay Railway Station at 10:25am.
As investigations into the incidents continue, Police Transport Command North West have released CCTV images of persons who might be able to assist with inquiries.
