Police investigate armed robbery at Auburn

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a shop in Sydney's west yesterday.

Just after 7.30pm (Friday 16 August 2019), police have been told two men entered a mixed business on Water Street, Auburn, and threatened a female employee with a firearm, while demanding cash and cigarettes.

The men fled the scene with the stolen goods and the employee was uninjured.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

The men are described as being between 165cm-175cm tall, wearing all black clothing including hooded jumpers, tracksuit pants and face coverings. They were both wearing Nike shoes.

Investigations continue.
