Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Earlville

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy have been charged following an armed robbery at a Balaclava Road business last night, 20 July.

It will be alleged the boys entered the business at around 7.30pm and threatened a staff member with a knife and a pair of scissors, before removing the cash drawer from a register and fleeing on foot.

Officers from Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) located the boys at a Mooroobool address at around 10.30pm and took them into custody.

The boys have each been charged with one count of armed robbery in company with violence.

Both have been refused bail and will appear before the Cairns Childrens Court today, 21 July.
