Police investigate armed robbery at Meadowbrook

Police have charged a man over the alleged armed robbery of bottle-shop at Meadowbrook this morning.

It will be alleged that around 9.05am, a man entered the Logandowns Drive business armed with a large knife, threatened the 45-year-old male employee and demanded cash.

The employee complied and the man then allegedly stole a two litre bottle of 'Jack Daniels' whiskey, before fleeing on foot with the alcohol and a quantity of cash.

Police attended the scene. Subsequent investigations lead officers to arrest a man on Burchill Street, Loganlea.

A 19-year-old Bethania man has now been charged with one count of armed robbery.

He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court (today) Wednesday, December 4.
