Police investigate armed robbery at Runcorn

Police are investigating after a convenience store was robbed at Runcorn this evening.

At around 7pm, two men entered a shop on Beenleigh Road where one of the pair approached the counter, indicated he had a weapon and threatened a male employee.

One of the men then took products off the shelves and put them in his pockets while the other man filled a bag with packets of cigarettes and cash from the till.

The two men then fled the scene. No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
