Police are investigating an arson incident at the old Claremont Primary School yesterday, Tasmania Police say.
At approximately 3.30pm yesterdayyesterday, a structure fire was reported at the old Claremont Primary School, located at 34 Cadbury Road, Claremont.
Two buildings were completely engulfed by fire when the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) arrived, resulting in extensive damage to the property. Further to this there was minor damage to the main building of the school grounds.
TFS conducted a scene examination and determined the fire was deliberately lit.
Tasmania Police have commenced investigations into this.
