Police are investigating an assault in a carpark in Beaconsfield last month which left a man with a fractured eye socket.
Investigators have been told a man attempted to intervene when he saw two males fighting in the carpark of a shopping centre on Old Princes Highway on 28 November just before 9.30pm.
One of the males, without warning, elbowed and punched the victim causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete.
The victim, a 38-year-old Officer man, lost consciousness and both the males that were fighting left the scene.
The victim was with his 13-year-old son who along with passersby called Triple Zero.
The offender is described as approximately 40-years-old, Caucasian, bald and was wearing a blue shirt and khaki shorts.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
