Police investigate assault of traffic camera car operator

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit are investigating following an incident in Hoppers Crossing last week.

Investigators understand a traffic camera car was operating on Mossfiel Drive around 11.40am on 6 August.

Two males approached the operator, attempted to open the locked doors, and made demands to move the vehicle.

When the operator refused, the men ran off towards Cation Avenue.

The victim then drove to the Werribee Police Station to report the incident.

One of the males was wearing a balaclava and a fluorescent yellow jacket, and the other wearing a mask covering his nose and mouth, and black clothing.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV from the car and surrounding areas and have released images of two people who may be able to assist.
