Police investigate Deer Park hit run

Police are appealing for public assistance following a hit and run collision in Deer Park which left a man seriously injured on 1 January.

Investigators have been told the driver of a silver SUV travelling north on Station Road, between Ballarat Road and Tilburn Road, attempted to perform a U-turn and collided with a motorcycle rider travelling south about 10.50am.

The rider, a 55-year-old Albanvale man, sustained severe leg injuries and was conveyed to hospital where he underwent surgery.

The driver of the SUV failed to stop after the collision, reversing and fleeing north on Station Road.

Police have released an image of the SUV, possibly a Ford Territory, which investigators believe may have had two female occupants at the time of the incident.
