Mernda police are appealing for public assistance following a two-car collision in Doreen this evening.
Police have been told a grey Toyota RAV4 was travelling north on Yan Yean Road, between Bridge Inn Road and Cookes Road, when it was hit by a south bound car about 6.45pm.
The driver of the unknown car, believed to be a white sedan, failed to stop and fled down Yan Yean Road before turning right onto Bridge Inn Road.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured during the collision.
Police are keen to speak with anyone who has dash-cam footage or who has seen a damaged white sedan in the area.
