Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash In Moil

Northern Territory Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred overnight in Moil.

Around 10:30pm, police received reports that a man had been struck by a motor vehicle travelling southbound on Rothdale Road.

Police and St John Ambulance attended; however, the 49-year-old pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and underwent roadside alcohol and drug testing. The driver returned a negative breath test; however, the roadside drug test indicated the possible presence of illicit drugs.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

A crime scene was established overnight, and Major Crash Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage or other information that may assist investigators to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference number P26221798.
