Police investigate Footscray car theft

Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the theft of a car from outside a licenced premises in Footscray yesterday (1 October), Victoria Police say.

Investigators believe a man approached the vehicle, which had been left unattended on Ballarat Road while the victim went inside to make a delivery.

The male got into the vehicle and was last seen driving north along

Gordon Street about 2am.

The vehicle, a 2012 grey Toyota Yaris, registration ZLK-166 is yet to be located.

The offender is described as approximately 30 years old, believed to be Caucasian in appearance, of medium build with short brown hair including a full beard, wearing a navy blue and white t-shirt and red scarf.

Investigators have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
