Police investigate Glenroy assault and robbery

Police are investigating an assault and robbery which occurred in Glenroy last month (13 February).

Investigators have been told the victim, a 56-year-old man from Glenroy, was walking through a car park on Glenroy Road about 2.40pm when he was approached by a man.

The man, described in his 20s, began talking to the victim before making threats and snatching the victim's back pack.

The offender pushed the victim, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the ground before he ran off towards Glenroy Road.

The victim took chase and caught up to the offender who returned his back to him after a second physical altercation.

He sustained abrasions and cuts to the face and head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The offender is described as Caucasian or Southern European in appearance with short dark hair, unshaven and was wearing pants and a t-shirt.

Detectives have released a computer generated image of the man who they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.
